Mrs. Amy Bird, age 67, who passed away last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Hamilton, north of town. Mrs. Bird had been suffering from a serious illness for five months.
Amie was the widow of William Lee Bird, who had died twenty-eight years earlier, leaving her with six children, all of whom survived her: Mrs. Fred Thomas, Mrs. Clyde Meek, Mrs. Harry Hamilton, Mrs. Curtis Elkins of Warren, Ohio, Mrs. Roy DeArmond, and Lee Bird. She also had one brother, Clarence VonPhul of Chicago, who survived her.
Amie Bird was born and raised in Cincinnati, where her father Henry VonPhul was a pioneer. She was a devoted member of the Episcopal church.
The funeral services were scheduled to be held at the Hamilton home the following afternoon at 4 o’clock, conducted by Rev. Harry Hole of Columbus. Her body would then be taken to Cincinnati on Saturday morning and laid to rest in the VonPhul lot at Spring Grove cemetery.
