Organization

Over the past few months, I’ve spent a significant amount of time researching the branches and roots of my family tree and my husband’s tree. The paper trail is a beast, and I’m trying to decide the best way to tame it. I have used binders, file boxes, and digital only. What works best? One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to figure out what works best for me and my research. One tool that helps the visual learner in me is a cheap dry erase wall decal. Mine is about 2 feet wide by 6 feet long. It’s awesome to make notes, keep track of new facts or missing ones, list surnames for each branch – the possibilities are endless. Just don’t get too giddy over it or your teenagers will take it over with all kinds of nonsense! Have you got a tool you use for organizing that is essential to your history hunting? I would love to hear your ideas!
